“ I had the best bacon roll of my life here. The locally sourced bacon was thick and crispy and absolutely delicious. I recommend having it with the chilli jam (made by the Symondsbury Estate) which was also amazing, so much so that I bought a jar in the shop. Flat white was also made perfectly. ”

“ We were served by Ruby- absolutely amazing service and wonderful food! Catered to non-standard allergens with kindness and respect! We had the confit tomatoes with feta and the autumn salad, would recommend both for anyone visiting. We didn’t get the chance to try the pear frangipane, which we would love to visit to try again. ”

Positives ;- * Nice size menu with a good amount of options * clean, bright with a airy atmosphere * tables well spaced so didn’t feel crowded * my lunch was super yummy and although to my greedy eyes thinking the portion was small it was actually just right. * pudding was equally tasty and well balanced in flavour, the food here was top notch also at 6.50 better value than other places I had dined that week. * happy to split the bill. Negatives; * The prices for the main menu items were on the higher side. (Although to give them there due the drinks were standard price for Dorset and the pudding a little less that other places I had eaten in that week) * The staff although polite did seem in a rush, maybe they were short staffed that day, but I did take a bit of effort to catch someone’s eye. * Since I was last visited they have extended the amount of covers they can do and if it was any busy than it was that day I would have found it rather noisy (as I’m hard of hearing). ”
“ Great place to visit and access to Colmer's Hill a short but slight incline to the top, restaurant has great food, ethically produced, the estate has a strong environmental attitude, and on the day we visited it was just a few days away from their festival devoted to environmental and climatic dance and other events , the restaurant was busy but staff were enthusiastic and such a brilliant group of people to be served by , we had the pulled pork , succulent and extremely well presented, if I lived locally, definitely would be a must too destination ”
